[00:14] Stephen: Hey everyone, Stephen Esketzis here from Marketing on the Move.

Coming to you tonight, which is 8:50 pm, Tuesday evening, just driving home from the office and I’ve got awesome news to share [laughs] which is a bit more awesome personal news, but it’s something I want to share with you nonetheless, I’m super pumped.

It’s something, which I’ve been working on for a while and I’ll let you know what it is.

So how this all started was, I’ve been a fan of Russell Brunson’s content for a long time, a couple of years at least and I think I’ve listened to every one of his podcasts at least 3 times. I’m probably his biggest fan-girl.

That is the best way to put it, and what actually happened was I’ve been sort of trying to build this relationship there, trying to connect out with him as much as possible and see if I could get that ultimate goal, which is a friend request from Facebook, and tonight, it actually happened.

[01:09] So I want to give you a bit of a backstory on what happened. How I build rapport with a big marketer in the industry and for me, that’s a big market.

I was trying to obviously connect with him for a long time to build that relationship and for you it might be someone else in the industry. So you might have someone that you really respect and mentor that you see out there, someone that’s getting you phenomenal results.

But for me at the moment in the last 6-12 months at least it’s been Russell and he’s been killing it on every front between launching a software business, info products, everything. Someone that really resonates with what I do and online and yeah, he’s just been dominating.

So what I did was, over the last few months, he launched a product called ClickFunnels, which I’m sure if you’ve listened to this off my website or off the iPhone for the podcast, you’re familiar with ClickFunnels, I’ve talked about it a lot. I actually spoke about it with Ricky Baldasso in our latest chat and ClickFunnels, phenomenal platform.

It’s kind of like your LeadPages on steroids where it lets you build out an entire funnel rather than just linking to it page by page. So it’s a phenomenal product, 100% use it.

And then, when that launched, he began becoming a lot more involved with the people that use it, the marketers. He got testimonials, put people in beta, a lot more involved.

And that’s really when I started to make an effort to connect with him. Because he’s either obviously done coaching the other things in the past but it was just before ClickFunnels launched and that period when I started hearing about. I thought ‘Look this guy’s taking it next level.

I really got to surround myself with him and make sure I can somehow make it into his network, one way or the other.’

[02:40] So after it launched, there’s one of the groups called DotComSecrets on Facebook. If you look it up, you’d be able to join as well.

They provide all the information about building funnels, creating funnels. ClickFunnels supports, so if you’ve got issues, a lot of people just post in there.

And he does webinars as well. So with ClickFunnels, every week they do a diginar webinar where they talk about 5 or 6 features of the product. What they’ll say ‘Did you know you could do this with it like a learning page or a sales page’ whatever it is.

So he jumps on there every single week and talks about things. So the way I started was, with my friend Ricky as well he loves Russell too, so if Russell’s listening, definitely add him too.

But what happened was we’d ask questions on the webinar, we’d try to get a laugh, we try instigating, always sort of be that quirky sort of guy in the conversation that we thought would be able to break out the laugh. And yeah, it sort of stand out a little bit.

And it sort of worked, I mean on the webinars it worked here and there. I think the first response I got, and this is super fan-girl by the way, like, hopefully there’s not many people to take it to this extreme level and all, but yeah.

[03:45] This is sort of how I did and I thought a funny story to share. So what happened was after one of the webinars, I ended up posting a meme in the group.

So I’m sure you guys know what a meme is, there’s funny lines on there and they’ve got a picture in the background. And it was something to do with the webinar, I can’t really remember.

I think it was a feature request or, oh, that’s right, I don’t know if you’ve seen that, the meme that says ‘my nigga’ and then it’s got the picture of, I think it’s, who is it, Denzel Washington, I think?

While he’s driving?

And I put ‘When a new ClickFunnels feature comes out’ and it got a ton of likes. So it gained a ton of social attraction in the group, obviously everyone there was Funnel users.

But yeah, Russell liked it as well and I think he commented ‘Haha’ or something and I go, I put a chunk – a couple of comments to try to keep the conversation going but it sort of died down. And recently I actually sent him a testimonial for the book because I read the book just before it launched, I got it on Kindle and it’s a phenomenal book.

Guys if you’re there, definitely get it. But I gave him a testimonial, sent him a video, and he goes ‘That’s fantastic, I’d love to use it.’

And then we’re having a chat and I also mentioned to him that because I’m going to be an affiliate to the book, that he’s missing a couple of templates as well in his affiliate center that actually size for Facebook ads. So he had something in there of the size thing when you’re re-targeting on your other ad networks but there wasn’t anything in there specifically for Facebook and I think, for me, I was going to use it for one of my re-targeting lists.

So I messaged him about that and he goes ‘Yeah, yeah, awesome do you have any ideas?’

I told him that I had a few ideas, I got a couple of hundred ads that I’ve saved, a whole lot of ads that I’ve saved over the last 12 months or something, and it’s been crazy. So I’ve got all of these ads in one of my folder so I’ve got about 300 ads saved, I’ll send you some of the good ones, he’s like ‘man, I’d love to get your 300.

Can you send them over?’

And I thought, mate this is my opportunity; I’ve got to take it. So I sent him a message I said ‘Look, how about for the 300 ads, I’ll trade you an exclusive Russell Brunson friend request and you give me a shout-out through Facebook recording chat.’

I don’t know if you guys do it, I use it all the time with my friends and with clients and stuff. It just makes it so much easier.

It’s like Voxa, essentially. So you can use that, you hold down a button and it sends you a chat. And he goes ‘Yes, sweet, done deal.’

And then he sent me the friend request and I was just pumped. Man I’ve been driving home for the last 10 minutes pumping music.

And I thought look, something so small, not SMALL but something so normal that someone just sent a friend request through and for some reason it’s like a celebrity walking in and you taking a photo with him. That’s how I feel right now driving home, just pumped thinking ‘Look after all this time, sort of building that rapport, it’s finally gone to a level where over something like that I just thought let’s turn this into an opportunity’ and it worked.

[6:25] So, super pumped about that. He’s a fantastic guy and it just shows you that if you can be a little quirky, if you can put yourself out there a little bit to really reach out with the people in the industry that you want to or someone that you respect or someone that you really look up to in the industry. Yeah, you can absolutely get that.

There’s no reason that you can’t and one of the things is, this podcast actually, I’ve got a whole list of people that I want to interview on the podcast at some stage and we’re already getting through a whole lot of marketers that are on the list we’ve had fantastic guys like Neil Patel, David from Hotjar, Ben Simkin from BusinessNet. There’s just been some incredible guys on this podcast and there’s a lot more on the way so definitely look out for that.

But yeah, I thought I’d just give you guys a quick heads up that you can reach out to people in your industry like Russel was to me that are really just, you think are unreachable so you might come across them you think, ‘Gee I don’t know if these guys will respond to my emails be out there. Be quirky, be different and really, I think, the best way to do it is have a laugh.

I think that’s the word I found that’s really resonated with me because I seem to get to the industry and think well it’s a bit bland, it’s a bit black and white and if you can have a laugh you can break someone into it. You’re going to be a bit more genuine, you can have a chat with them a lot easier.

So that’s my two cents guys, having a fantastic night tonight I think that topped it off driving home now, so make sure you guys have a nice fun day. Maybe write down in your Facebook or shoot me an email even, stephen@tracktasia.com, shoot me an email and tell me is there anyone in your industry that you really look up to that you’re going to try and speak with and try to send an email to try to reach out to and build a relationship with?

Probably doesn’t have to go through as long as I made mine the best. 6 months, I think, it took but if you guys, is there anyone that you really respect that you want to meet maybe it’s Tony Robins, maybe it’s an internet marketer, maybe it’s someone in the fitness industry, or a coach or whoever.

Try to make that effort. Try to reach out and see if you can break through the barrier and have a chat with him because I’m telling you guys it’s an awesome feeling and yeah, just kill it.

So, have a lot of fun guys, make a lot of money make some – get your funnel all ready to go I’ve actually got on the same day I may as well mention that my funnel service is actually coming out this week. So I’m offering a, I finally put together a service to build people’s funnels because I’ve had a whole lot of requests for that and it’s all within quick funnels so, it makes it all easier when you can just share a funnel and the whole thing just appears in your account but it you are looking for a funnel shoot me a message and it’ll be on the website pretty shortly.

I’ll see you in stephenesketzis.com otherwise take care have a good night. Make lots of money and I’ll speak to you soon.
