[00:17] Hey everyone! It’s Stephen Esketzis from Marketing on the Move coming to you from the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. I’m just on my holiday at the moment.

I’m just on my holiday at the moment.

I’ve spent 7 days here. I’m literally right now sitting on the balcony overlooking the waves which are overlooking some other apartments that are looking over the shops.

People are going swimming, people are going surfing, and it’s fantastic weather; I could not ask for anything better right now.

Absolutely perfect. I’ve got a few drinks around.

[00:43] So what I wanted to come to you with is that I haven’t done another podcast for a little while. It’s been busy.

I’m sort of busy with work and also busy getting ready for the holiday and you know, being on the holiday. So I want to explain a few things that I’ve been up to and what’s been happening.

[00:56] So recently, coming into the holiday, there’s a few things that I’ve learned and one thing I’ve posted on my Facebook page this morning.

At the time of recording this I’m on my way to Movie World and Wet and Wild.

So these are two theme Parks that are here in the Golf Course (very popular). Olivia (my girlfriend) and I took a bus there, and the bus we hopped on goes past a few other stops.

It goes past Schoolies, which is, if you don’t know, is when year twelves finish all their school, they usually go on a holiday for a week or so. They get crazy, they drink, and they party.

They’re also here in the Golf Course at this moment but they’re in a different suburb. But this bus went through their suburbs: Surfer’s Paradise.

We went through there and then it goes all the way to the theme parks.

[01:42] So what I want to tell you about is while I was on this bus– when we got on, I started looking at this sort of people. So here it’s between 30-35 degrees almost every day.

It’s consistently sunny with blue skies and not a cloud in sight. I started looking, and I saw a few different people. A few different professions around: construction workers, gardeners, and garbage collectors were the three that caught my eye while on the bus.

While I was in my board shorts ready to go for a swim at Wet and Wild, which is a water park, I noticed that these guys were under the sun busting their balls trying to get work and doing work in the middle of the day and in the middle of the heat consistently. It occurred to me  that…  I sort of wondered that if I was in their position and say something happened.

Say I got injured or I got sick.

What sort of passive income would I have available?

What sort of fall back would I have?

What sort of availability for money to keep coming in if I can’t work would I have?

It just occurred to me how powerful money is. So while on this holiday, I’ve got a few revenues, and a few different interviews; a passive income coming in while I’m still away from my computer.

While I’m still away from home this money just keeps coming in. It comes in without me having to do anything hands-on with the business, and it just really shows how powerful something like this is, where you can be in a holiday sitting on the balcony, relaxing and still have money coming in while other people are working their asses off ten times harder than you are in the sun and making a fraction of the amount that you are.

[03:08] And it’s the same thing. I mean if you look on the bigger scale there’s billionaires who own  thousands of companies and they’re making a lot more money that I am, but it just shows you how important passive income is.

[03:19] The model is exactly the same; they’re still making money while they are not actively working in the company. They’re leveraging others to make sure that money is coming in and working at the highest level.

So that was one thing that occurred to me just driving past and seeing these workers, and the second thing that occurred to me was the sort of conditions that I worked in. So you see the harsh sun…

It was really, really hot on this bus and even then luckily the bus was air-conditioned, but it was still pretty uncomfortable. And then I just saw… there must have been about twenty builders on this work site all working really hard (construction workers) and all digging (whatever it was.)

I think it was digging out, laying pipes, and laying electricity. They were doing all this work in really, really hot weather.

[04:05] And I was just thinking that you can work really hard but at least make conditions well. Make sure you’re working in the right conditions.

There’s really– to be an Australian and to live in Australia you’ve got no excuses unless you are extremely passionate about what you’re doing, and these builders are passionate about that in all form, but if this wasn’t your passion and if you’re just following the money, there is no excuse not to have a job that rewards yourself well and to work  in a lifestyle that you want to make around yourself. There’s absolutely no excuse.

[04:35] So if they’re working like that…. They are working their asses off in the heat in the 30 to 35 degree weather, and it’s so hot and it’s just ridiculous; there’s people out there that are working behind the computer in internet marketing.

They are educating themselves to get themselves to that level where their work is around their lifestyle and not ‘their lifestyle builds around their work,’ and I think it’s super important to make sure that you if going to be working for ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty years of your life, then do something that you love, number 1, and number 2 is to make sure that you live in the conditions and that you work in the conditions that you want to.

Otherwise you get started working in the conditions that you don’t want to and make a quick buck, and you won’t be able to get yourself out of the rat race.

It’s so important to set yourself up right. Have the procedure and have the structure in your life where you can work based around your lifestyle and not have your lifestyle based on how you want to work.

I found that so important; it’s such a big thing for me. So that way you can do what you want.

If you want go on four holidays a year, one every quarter, then you can do that straight away and while you’re having passive income coming in and while you’ve got the time to do that around your work and lifestyle.

[05:40] So for me, I love working around people, personally. Look, I don’t mind being in the office; I’m in the office all the time.

That’s just me. I like going from place to place, meeting to meeting, keeping people active, meeting for lunch, meeting for coffee, doing bits and pieces, organizing deals, working things out, joining benches or whatever it might be. I hate sitting outside in the sun.

I hate to be working hands on. That’s just me, personally. So I’ve built my lifestyle around something which is less hands on, and I get people to do it for me.

So that’s something that I’m passionate about, and I want make sure that it works.

[06:10] So my little lesson for today is to make sure that you work hard in a comfortable environment, and you party hard when you’re on  holidays. So work hard in an environment that you want to be in.

Make sure you pull yourself together. If it’s a lifestyle business, that’s great, but make sure you work your ass off.

If you don’t work your ass off you can not get the results and then your business is just going to go down the drain. So number 1 is working crazy hard day and night; hustle 24/7 but make sure you’re working in a comfortable environment: somewhere where you are happy, somewhere where you’re enjoying yourself because if you don’t love your work then a holiday doesn’t mean anything.

So number 1 is working crazy hard day and night; hustle 24/7 but make sure you’re working in a comfortable environment: somewhere where you are happy, somewhere where you’re enjoying yourself because if you don’t love your work then a holiday doesn’t mean anything.

You’re just going to look forward to it, and you’re going to hate it and hate it even more. So make sure you are enjoying the position you’re in when you are working.

[06:54] When you’re on holidays make sure you disconnect and just relax. Don’t worry about trying to catch the e-mails or trying to catch the phones; have the systems in place so when you’re relaxing it works around you and your lifestyle.

[07:06] Hopefully that gives you a bit of an insight, guys, on something I’ve learnt here while on holiday. I want to keep this podcast going so I need to get my system to remind me every couple of days to push out

I want to keep this podcast going so I need to get my system to remind me every couple of days to push out a podcasts because I love the atmosphere here.

I can record on the beach off the balcony here, (I think we’re on the 25th  floor or something) and just looking over the beach is phenomenal. Yeah! So it’s pretty crazy. If you guys resonated with that please let me know.

I know this is going to be posted on my website. There’s been a whole lot of interviews being posted without the entrepreneurs and business
