Tell us when your journey into skin care began?
I began my journey into skin care as a sales person for Estee Lauder. I then moved to work for Lancôme cosmetics. My job entails making people feel better about how they look through education and products specific to their needs. As my career grew in cosmetics to hosting spa events, in which we perform peels and other higher level processes for skin rejuvenation and vitality, I could see a need for a natural skin care product that would heal damaged skin. The damaged skin I worked with ranged from acne to burns, to rosacea to eczema and more. Before using make up, it is important to have a good foundation of healthy skin to work with. In 2003 I went back to school to get my medical estheticians license to treat more advanced skin conditions. This brought me a higher understanding of the skin’s structure and how to treat the different conditions I encountered during the day. I continually was introduced to new products to treat specific issues of the largest organ of our body. Although there are many products that claim to heal skin, results are what counts. That is brought me to develop and introduce Epizyn.
What are the most common misconceptions women have about skincare?
Women are sold a myriad of myths around skin care. First, the facial skin is the only skin attached directly to muscle; there are no facial ligaments for expressions! Other myths are collagen can be replaced by rubbing it on skin, skin pores open and close, preservatives are bad in skin care, chocolate does not cause acne (thank God!), sun damage only occurs when you are young- it occurs your whole life, and getting a base tan is good before going on vacation. All tanning can cause damage. The myths are to sell ineffective products. Most importantly, don’t damage your skin with a product that strips away essential oils, causes microscopic tearing, or other damaging attributes.
How did you arrive at the Epizyn philosophy and how does it differ from other brands?
Epizyn is based on some very basic principles. First, be all natural. Epizyn is an all-natural product with no known side effects. It is even safe around the eyes. Two, make sure that the product solves a problem. Zinc is a trace mineral that is lacking in almost all human diets resulting in a deficiency which creates undesirable skin condition among other health issues. Zinc is found in oysters, dark leafy greens, dark beef, dark nuts, and other foods not found or consumed in high quantities. We get great feedback about the results Epizyn provides which keeps us motivated to teach people about its qualities. Also, it is 100% guaranteed.
One of your key ingredients is Zinc. How does this work on the skin and what are the main benefits of its use?
Zinc is a building block of cells, particular skin cells. Zinc helps to synthesize proteins and is also anti-bacterial and great for the immune system. Zinc accelerates enzyme action and is needed for development of muscles, hair and of course, skin.
If you could leave our readers with one last piece of business advice, what would it be?
Stay committed to what interest you. I never mind talking about skin care, cosmetics and health since that is what keeps me engaged. I read books about fitness, health, and products that benefit people. Most of the time I don’t even realize I’m working! It is a good feeling when people call me back or send an e-mail telling a story about how they are much better and telling others about it.
