Alex Thorn On Fitness and Training
Could you tell us of your background before becoming a personal trainer and its advantages?
I was a Professional Wrestler for 4 years prior to becoming a Weight Lifting Specialist, despite what many may think about it and the predetermined outcomes; IT IS a very physical business to be in. In the months leading to my Championship win in 2011, I trained like I was Sylvester Stallone in the rocky movies. That’s where I really started to fall in love with Fitness, and see what I was really made of. My trainers really took my mind and body to places it had never been.
Why did you become a trainer?
After the injuries piled up from beating my body up for four years, as well as having my first child on the way, I needed to make a decision in my life whether putting my body on the line was worth it, night in and night out or was it time to move on. So in the end, I retired as Champion of my division and honestly became depressed for a short time after that. Little by little as I went more to the gym to fill that depressed void, People began to notice the change in my body and they started asking me ” Hey what are you doing dude? Because you’re changing fast. Can you show us what you Are Doing?” That’s honestly how Thorn fitness started. After that I threw together a few designs and narrowed it down to the logo you see today and threw it out there. Showing others the methods that helped me become a Wrestling Champion were Thrilling and Satisfying.
What makes Thorn Fitness Personal Training different from other fitness centers?
What Makes Thorn Fitness Different from other Training Facility’s is The Intensity. The Championship Mentality. The Community of Team THORN & the Live 2 Win Positive Energy.
How have your changed your approach to clients over the years of experience?
My approach to clients has evolved to the point of being able to work with different age ranges & Body types to get incredible Results. Don’t get me wrong, Thorn Fitness training isn’t for everybody. It’s for those who have heart and understand the value of health. Who understand that giving up and sitting like a lump of clay in front of a TV isn’t an option in this life.
If you could leave our readers with one last piece of business advice, what would it be?
To borrow from the great Bruce Lee “Express yourself Honestly, Be True to Yourself” Don’t try to be like the rest of your industry. Find out what’s lacking and fill that void. If the last few years of my life as an Entrepreneur have shown me anything, it’s that life is too precious to waste doing something that doesn’t make you happy. And this makes me happy; to stand on the edge of a mountain and jump with no safety net is truly the meaning of Live 2 Win. And that’s what you have to do to make your business work.
