What made you create software for the task management industry?
Our goal was to create a task analysis software solution that is easy to use, simple to understand, and effective in boosting employee productivity.
Task Management has been around for years. Task Analysis is a new trend in task management that is focuses on analysis, priorization, and optimization. Task Analysis enables the effective management of employee’s tasks using accurate working time recording, monitoring and analysis. If task management is the process of managing a task through its life cycle, then task analysis is the process of optimizing those tasks.
Our online software solution enables companies to boost employee performance through workflows, task and time management, escalations and alerts. It enables companies to automate their internal procedures using the built-in workflow processes, analyze employee performance through performance analytics, and enforce internal company policies through the policy wizards.
What are some of the challenges you have faced in your start-up?
The main challenge was marketing – getting the attention of managers and companies that needed our software solution. It requires skill, experience, discipline, judgment, attention, concentration and the investment of time and money. Patience and persistence is a virtue needed by every start-up company.
The other challenge was technology. How do you bring business intelligence and analysis reports into the company environment and keeping it simple to use by non-technical users. It’s easy developing complex software technology. The hard part is making the technology simple to use.
How long did it take to develop your software to where it is today?
Product design took us the most time. We believe in the British tradition of “Do it once, do it properly” methodology.
Software development was mostly straight forward, expect for the complex algorithms of the analysis wizard and workflow engine, which took more time, to ensure that they run smoothly. Like every software development, it is an ongoing process of upgrading, adding new and exciting features, and embedding cutting edge technologies into the core software solution.
What’s your favorite part about software development?
I love challenges. Nothing makes me happier than finding a solution to an impossible problem. And nothing is more challenging than technology. Most of my work is focused on the technological advancements and innovations within the organization, overseeing development of new technologies to improve business performance. I’m the guy responsible for designing and implementing the software solution, but I’m still a techie at heart.
